WE FRICKIN' ROCK!

May I just say that we all ROCK. Personally, I think Jamie rocks the most because she actually ran about 14 miles in order to finish with me! And we still finished ahead of what we thought!
I thought I would never be able to do that in a million years, so it feels great to prove myself and some of my inner demons wrong. So I guess on to the next run...Canoe Fest??!? 2 or 5 miles?! I am willing to keep doing a few FUN runs here and there to keep myself in shape, but I need to be spending some quality time with Amanda doing some crunches and other workouts. This body needs some strength training!
Great Job Everyone!! I am so proud of all of us.

This is my last blog before the big race. Good luck to everyone. Some things to keep in mind -
1. You need to be done by 10:30. This is the time they start giving out medals for half marathoners and you will look pretty dumb crossing the line at that time.
2. You need to be one of the first 3200 halfers people across the finish line or you don't get a Tshirt that day (they will mail it to you, though).
3. I don't think there is medical attention until mile 13.
4. Have fun!

Even though it kind of sucked, I am glad I did it. Thanks girls!!!!! I am so lucky to have friends like you (I am saying this in case I die tomorrow). I am also going to church tonight to pray for us (in case I or one of you dies tomorrow).

Love, Jamie

Little toes

Any suggestions to help my little toes? Every time I run, especially the long runs, my little toes feel like they are going to start on fire and burn right off my feet! Then I end up with mega (ok, not at big as Heidi's) blisters. They have become permanent additions to my feet over the past few months. Any tips to help the little pigs :)

Uhhh DUHHHH

So, when I say 13 days left, I'm counting today and the 25th. According to the ticker at the bottom of the page it's really 11 days and 20 some hours. MY BAD. James P would be disgusted w/ my skills.

Lonely, I'm so lonely...

Amy Z, I have a new and ever deeper found respect for you. I had to run my long run by myself on Saturday. I can't believe you have to do that all the time!!! So, WAY TO GO! I'm super-impressed with your dedication and persistence.

I went 10.8 on Saturday and felt pretty good. My knees were screaming, though, by the end when I had to go downhill (the first time I dreaded going DOWN a hill). I'm thinking I had better plan to ice that night. I even took a nap Saturday afternoon. :)

Amy W had gone into the doctor's office last week and had the new guy in town. He has run multiple marathons in the past I guess and he suggested to lay off the mileage as well. So, what do we do? Continue on, or cut back for this weekend? I'm looking to you wise women to lead the way on this one!

13 DAYS TILL GO TIME!

What next-long run?

This past weekend, I did an 11.1 mile run. It went well, my time is where I want to be at for the half. I wanted to get over 30 miles in, but with Jason working 2 nights last week, it just didn't happen. This week, I have decided not to add any more miles to my long run, I might do an 8 mile run, what you guys planning?? I have seen different things online.
Then the last week is light miles, I am looking forward to that!! Can you believe that we have less than 2 weeks? I am ready to get r' done!
