Survived the Crazy Legs!

Well one race down one to go - well if I have my way. After proving that I could actually run a road race Drew got so excited he thinks that I am going on the professional tour. He has very high hopes - I heard him say Bix 7 and Canoe Fest 5 and then I was off and wondering how I could break my legs with the least amount of pain involved. :-)

Running the Crazy Legs was a lot of fun though. The wind was crazy but it was a good experience. I learned a couple of things that will come in handy for next time. I now know that I need to get up and actually eat a decent breakfast so I don't run out of gas (was too worried about puking to eat enough) and I should start running in the morning so my body doesn't go into shock when I have exceeded my maximum AM movement allowance. It would also be nice to see the course in person before the day of the race so I have some idea of what I'm in for. I like to know whats coming at me so I can mentally prepare for it and lie to my body about it.

Oh well. Being a bum today. Ran 3.3 yesterday and the entire thing sucked. My quads are so sore I can hardly walk. Must not be running enough hills because I have been doing at least 4 miles a night pretty religiously so I don't think that it was the distance. May have been the run up the mound I took on the way home on Saturday. Those are some steep ass steps by the way - if I hadn't been chasing my kids up I would have enjoyed the view from every bench!

Happy Hump Day!!
